Registration of inheritance after the death of an Egyptian spouse

If you are the official wife of a late Egyptian husband, then you are the heir to his fortune, regardless of whether you have children together or not. In addition to you, of course, the heirs of his fortune are his other children before marriage to you, another wife (official), the guardian of his minor (under age) children, his brothers (or sisters), his parents.

The division of inheritance in Egypt, as in other countries, is a laborious and difficult to understand process. The situation is complicated by the fact that in Egypt there is no common property registration system (not yet, but will be soon). Villas, dachas, chalets on the sea, cars and other properties are not yet registered and in order to take all this into account as an inheritance, it is only necessary for a lawyer, during the registration of participants in the inheritance in court, to indicate the objects of inheritance that you know about. If your late husband was the owner of a large business, then you can count on part of his income (dividends).
